Cambridge Style Week 2016 - Night of Fashion Finale
The second and the final catwalk show of CSW16! Before guests took their seats for the show they had the opportunity to shop till they dropped with a selection of 20 boutique shops to have a look at including Susie Watson Designs and Taank Optometrists. After the guests were welcomed by Karl Ude-Martinez the show then kicked off with a bang. The Spring/Summer theme continued with 15 exceptional brands being featured on the catwalk. Truly a great Night of Fashion!
The show began with exceptional vocals from Amy Morris, this up and coming artist is one to watch at only 17 years old. Now for the fashion with a second appearance from our Star designer I-Unique London on the catwalk showcasing more beautiful pieces. Next up, is Taank Optometrists located on Mill Road Cambridge, an award winning eye specialist who can help you get ready for summer with a gorgeous pair of sunglasses. The Social Media Team visited the Taank pop up to try on some frames and have a photo in their booth. Taank hand pick all of their frames and have an amazing selection.
Karl Ude-Martinez introduced the two charities that Cambridge Style Week are working with this year, Born to be Beautiful and Arthur Rank Hospice then guests witnessed a short presenta tion all about the charity Born to be Beautiful. Fashions from Chanesse’ came next, she is a fashion graduate from Anglia Ruskin University and she premiered her first ever professional collection.
Next up, local brand Anne Furbank with a great selection of colourful pieces perfect for summer wear. The store was followed by Petrus, an independent based Cambridge business who gave us classic mens and womens wear 'with a twist'. KFD Jewellery up next with beautiful jewellery to make you feel elegant and stylish combined with pieces from Burr Bridal.
KFD Jewellery were launching their new Transformations Collection where different pieces can have links added or taken away so you can add length to necklaces or earrings. This collection was followed by a short presentation all about the charity Arthur Rank Hospice. Award winning boutique Five Six Blue showcased their Spring/Summer collection full of Scandi elegance and patterned two pieces . Popular lingerie brand and Gold Sponsors Triumph ended the first half with their Magic Boost Collection.
The second half of the show kicked off with a beautiful dance by National Latin Ballroom Champions from the Cambridge University Dance team. First designer on the catwalk was Cambridgeshire based Alexander Huck with his My Daughter’s Dowry collection. Cath Kidston took to our catwalk for a second time followed by Podarok who are an independent gift and jewellery shop with an amazing range of scarves and coverups along with unique handbags.
Next up, designs by talented fashion students from Anglia Ruskin University followed by another appearance from Alice Potts and the big finale Innovation in Fashion by Steph Baudino.
After the show finished Sarah Glover from Born to be Beautiful surprised us all by announcing that our Director Nicky Shepard was to become an Ambassador for the charity. Congratulations Nicky!
