Cambridge Style Week 2016 - First Night of Fashion
CSW 2016 Night of Fashion kicked off with a bang last night with its first catwalk show, combining a selection designers, new collections and well-loved Cambridge boutiques.
TV presenter and actor Karl Ude-Martinez welcomed the guests to CSW 2016 in the beautiful setting of the Guildhall in the centre of Cambridge. The show was inspired by the upcoming Spring/Summer trends with a range of different collections modelled by real men and women from the local area. The night was a special one with the premier of Triumph’s new collection as well as a range of other retailers and designers being featured throughout the show! We were also treated to a beautiful dance by Cambridge University Dance team in both halves of the show.
The first half of the show kicked off with Star Designer I-Unique whose collection was first showcased at CSW 2015. I-Unique brought a selection of beautiful pieces to the catwalk including a strong military style theme that proved to be a key feature of the collection. Following I-Unique was Elegant Atelier with beautiful pieces that got guests inspired for the upcoming Spring/Summer trends!
John Lewis from the Grand Arcade then gave us some ideas to refresh our wardrobe with brands featured such as Ralph Lauren, Somerset and Jigsaw featuring pieces for both day and nightwear. Next up was Cuckoo Clothing, an award winning boutique in the heart of Cambridge, with some really unique outfits. They have a great selection of backpacks ready for your summer holiday!
Following Cuckoo Clothing, was something for the boys with a selection of great office wear, with fashions from Charles Tyrwhitt and Wallis in the Grand Arcade. The collection also featured great workwear for women, who said you can’t look good going to work? Next up, Boudoir Femme, this King Street boutique has been dressing women of Cambridge for up to ten years! Guests witnessed some gorgeous pieces go down the catwalk with a selection of denim, separates and beautiful dresses to choose from.
Ted Baker London was up next with a selection of smart and casual pieces from pastels to brights. It’s really up to you! They were followed by OSKA clothing who showed great attention to detail, comfort and style all in one! All pieces were paired with Modish shoes to add that little something to each outfit. Triumph, our gold sponsors closed the first half of the show with 19 key looks from their current collection. With lingerie for all occasions and beautiful matching sets followed by pieces from their Swimwear collection.
The second half of the show started with an informative talk from one of the Uk’s most respected jewellery designers, Harriet Kelsall.
Alexander Huck, a fashion graduate and emerging designer is first on the catwalk for the second half with a spectacular collection which showed considerable attention to detail. Well know brand Cath Kidston came next. They specialise in bright vintage style homeware and fashion. A great selection of florals and pastel clothing took to the catwalk with a fabulous selection of bags ready for summer!
Next up was Hobbs who have grown from a small shoe shop to a global brand featuring great occasion wear as well as smart/ casual pieces. The Spring/Summer theme continued with great pieces from Anne Furbank, The Grafton Centre, Taank Cambridge and Five Six Blue. They were followed by beautiful designs from student designer Alice Potts and jewellery from Catherine Jones Cambridge. The show wrapped with Innovation in Fashion from Stephanie Baudino.
All in all, a brilliant first Night of Fashion at CSW16 - and we can’t wait to see what tonight’s show brings! We still have tickets left so get them while you can and come and enjoy a great night of fashion!
